Tattoo na Gàidhealtachd a' tilleadh am-bliadhna

Gaelic Gàidhlig

[Iain MacAonghais - Preseantair] Nise gu tachartas cudromach eile am-bliadhna. Thàinig dearbhadh an-diugh gu bheil Tattoo na Gàidhealtachd a’ tilleadh am-bliadhna. Tha greis bhon a bha i anns an sgìre, ‘s thathar an dòchas gum bi an chuid sluagh na Gàidhealtachd fhèin agus luchd-turais airson a bhith an làthair agus an tachartas gu bhith ann an àite car eadar-dhealaichte am-bliadhna, mar a tha Shona NicEanraig ag aithris.

[Shona NicEanraig – Neach-aithris] Tha Tattoo Rìoghail Dhùn Èideann a’ tàladh nam mìltean luchd-turais a h-uile bliadhna, le daoine a’ tighinn às gach ceàrnaidh, an chuid ga choimhead agus airson pàirt a ghabhail ann. Eadar an còigeamh ‘s an t-seachdamh dhen t-Sultain tha dùil gum bi seo loma-làn le mhìle duine airson aon dhe na tachartasan as motha dhe sheòrsa anns an Rìoghachd Aonaichte – Tattoo na Gàidhealtachd a’ tilleadh gu Gearasdan Dheòrsa, faisg air Inbhir Nis.

[Shona NicEanraig – Neach-aithris] Tha e coltach gu robh faireachdainn ann gu robh iarrtas ann airson an Tattoo a thilleadh dhan sgìre. Tha HIE, Event Scotland agus Comhairle na Gàidhealtachd am measg na th ’air taic a chur ris an tachartas.

[An Comh Ailig Greumach] Tha mi smaoineachadh gu bheil a h-uile duine ag aontachadh gur e rud math a tha seo dhan bhaile agus dhan Ghàidhealtachd. Bha Tattoo againn ann an Inbhir Nis bho chionn trì bliadhna air ais agus an uair sin sguir e ‘s tha e math g’ eil seo a’ tighinn air ais, chan ann a-mhàin dhan luchd-turais ach cuideachd dha daoine a tha a’ fuireach anns an sgìre, g’ eil ùidh mhòr anns na seirbheisean armachd agus ‘s e rud math a bhios ann.

[Shona NicEanraig – Neach-aithris] A thuilleadh air “fly past” agus cleasan-teine, tha mòran eile gu bhith ri fhaicinn.

[Am Màidsear Seanalair Seymour Monro] It’s going to be a very special event, I mean spectacular. The back drop of the fort is very hard to beat, it’s the biggest military fortress in the United Kingdom and we’ve got a really good cast of military bands, both military and pipes and drums, local adult bands and three youth bands

[Am màidsear Bruce Hitchings] The Highland Brigade had a school of music here, the very famous Pipe Major Donald MacLeod taught here for many years so many a pipers and drummers learnt their piping and drumming in here and I think to come back to the Fort and actually bring piping and drumming and the Tattoo back in here is a fantastic thing.

[Shona NicEanraig – Neach-aithris] Bidh an Tattoo a’ dol air na trì oidhcheannan fad uair a thìde gu leth agus tha na tiogaidean rim faotainn a-nise tro Ticketmaster Scotland. Shona NicEanraig, BBC An Là, aig Gearasdan Dheòrsa.

The Highland Tattoo returns this year

English Beurla

[Iain MacInnes - Presenter] Now to another important event of the year. It was confirmed today that the Highland Tattoo is returning this year. It’s a while since it was in the area and there is hope it will attract both people from the Highlands and tourists with the event taking place in a different venue this year, as Shona Henderson reports.

[Shona Henderson - Reporter] The Royal Edinburgh Tattoo attracts thousands of tourists each year, with people coming from all over to both watch and take part. Between the fifth and the seventh of September they hope that this will be filled with two thousand people for one of the biggest events of its kind in the United Kingdom – the Highland Tattoo – which is returning to Fort George, near Inverness.

[Shona Henderson – Reporter] It would seem there was a demand for the Tattoo to return to the area. HIE, Event Scotland and the Highland Council are amongst those who have given support to the event.

[Cllr Alex Graham] I think that everyone is in agreement that this is a good thing for the town and for the Highlands. We had a Tattoo in Inverness three years ago and then it stopped so it’s good that it’s back, not just for the tourists but also for people who live in the area, that there’s a big interest in the armed services and it will be a good thing.

[Shona Henderson – Reporter] As well as a “fly past” and fireworks, there’s plenty more to see.

[Major General Seymour Monro] It’s going to be a very special event, I mean spectacular. The back drop of the fort is very hard to beat, it’s the biggest military fortress in the United Kingdom and we’ve got a really good cast of military bands, both military and pipes and drums, local adult bands and three youth bands

[Shona Henderson – Reporter] The Tattoo will be on for three nights and will last an hour and a half and tickets are available through Tickermaster Scotland. Shona Henderson, BBC An Là, Fort George.
