[Rhoda Meek] Is mise Rhoda. Tha mi a’ fuireach an seo ann an Tiriodh
[Rhoda Meek] Mus tèid mi càil nas fhaide, Tiriodh a th’ ann, chan e ”Tirìdh”. Chan e ”Tirèadh”. Tiorodh.
[Rhoda Meek] Glè mhath.
[Rhoda Meek] Niste, tha mi ag obair bhon taigh. Agus ‘s e .. uill, chan eil sinn buileach cinnteach idir gu dè tha mi a’ dèanamh, uill chan eil mise buileach cinnteach, ach coimpiutaireachd air seòrsa.
[Rhoda Meek] Is fhad ‘s a tha mi ag obair, tha companaich agam. Tha ceithir càit agam. Seo agaibh Snuffles agus Polly.
[Rhoda Meek] Tha mi a’ fuireach anns an taigh a thog mo shinn-shinn-sheanair. Siud e – dìreach ann an shiud. A’ cumail sùil orm agus na tha mi a’ dèanamh.
[Rhoda Meek] Seo agad Gunna. Tha Gunna mu dhà bhliadhna a dh’aois agus tha e ag obair nan caorach còmhla rium.
[Rhoda Meek] Tha còrr is … ò fichead ‘s a’ chòig caora gu bhith a’ breith thairis air an dà sheachdain a tha ri thighinn agus mar sin, bidh mi trang, bidh mi gu math fhèin trang a-muigh fhad ‘s a tha mi fhèin a’ feuchainn ri fuireach a-staigh!
[Rhoda Meek] I’m Rhoda. I live here in Tiree.
[Rhoda Meek] Before I go any further, Tiree is pronounced Tiriodh, not ”Tirìdh” , not ”Tirèadh” (not the way some people pronounce it). Tiriodh .
[Rhoda Meek] Very good.
[Rhoda Meek] Now, I work from home. And well … we're not entirely sure what I do, well, I am not entirely sure, but a type of computing.
[Rhoda Meek] While I’m working I have companions. I have four cats. This is Snuffles and Polly.
[Rhoda Meek] I live in the house my great-great-grandfather built. There he is – right there. Keeping an eye on me and what I do!
[Rhoda Meek] This is Gunna. Gunna is about two years ols and he works the sheep with me.
[Rhoda Meek] I have more than … oh,25 ewes who will be lambing in the next two weeks, and as such I’ll be pretty busy outside whilst I am trying to stay inside!
